Chief Business Officer (CBO) to leading drug formulation company

ZERION PHARMA is a pharmaceutical company undergoing a rapid development towards commercialization of some of its key assets. The Company has pioneered the unique Dispersome® formulation technology enabling the development of novel drug products by improving the solubility and bioavailability of small molecule drugs.

We aim to bring our first Dispersome® drug formulation to the market within a few years and obtain regulatory acceptance of our whey protein as a novel pharmaceutical excipient. In addition to our own drug formulation development programs, ZERION has several ongoing collaboration programs with large pharmaceutical companies. It is our ambition to increase the number of these collaborative partnerships significantly in the years to come and we are therefore now seeking an experienced Chief Business Officer that can lead these efforts and contribute to the global commercialization of our Dispersome® technology.

The position

As member of ZERION’s management team, you will be responsible for commercialization of our internal programs as well as securing and managing business development activities related to our partnerships.

This means that your role will be among others to:

  • Further develop and execute on our commercial & licensing strategies
  • Prepare and execute effective marketing of the Dispersome® technology.
  • Identify and secure new external pharma/biotech partners
  • Complete license and development agreements with existing and new external partners
  • Manage the BD activities of ZERION’s partnerships with leading suppliers/CDMOs
  • Lead the commercial assessment of existing and novel internal programs
  • Participate in the preparations towards a planned IPO
  • Secure partners (key focus USA) for our internal programs
  • Alliance management

Your profile

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated and independent person, preferably with an MSc/Ph.D in pharmacy, chemistry or biology coupled with an MBA or similar. You must have a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience working as a sales/business development/licensing professional in the pharmaceutical industry.

We expect that you have experience with all or most of the following areas:

  • Detailed knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotech markets, incl. preferably the USA
  • Positioning of novel/improved drug products
  • Commercial assessment of drug formulation business opportunities
  • Development and communication of licensing/commercial strategies for novel pharmaceutical

Technologies & products

  • Execution on license/commercialization strategies and plans
  • Hands-on experience from commercial launch of medicinal products, preferably Gx+ type
  • Preparing and negotiating term sheets and license agreements with pharma/biotech companies
  • Managing partnerships and contractual obligations

We expect that you have a strong commercial mindset. You must be a team player and have considerable management experience from a small/medium sized pharma or biotech company. We expect that you aim at meeting high quality standards, dedicated to meet deadlines critical to our partners, the team and to the Company. Based on your experience and creativity, you should be able to secure commercial success and substantial revenues for ZERION in the coming years. You will report to the CEO.

We offer a compensation package that will correspond to your qualifications, including a bonus package and corporate pension as well as a warrant program.
